Langston Golf Course & Driving Range, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Washington, District of Columbia.
The course first opened with 9-holes in 1939. Langston was expanded to 18-holes in 1955. The back nine holes at Langston were built on adjacent land in Anacostia Park (on the western shore of Kingman Lake).
This course has flat fairways. The front nine is more open than the back nine which is considered fairly tight. Trees provide to be a good obstacle on the back nine holes. Water hazards come into play on two holes (ponds). A few bunkers are spread out as well. The greens are medium-sized, flat, and fast. The club has lights on the course for night play.

Langston is close to where I was living. From a historical perspective, it has a rich history of the African American community in terms of golf. Course and clubhouse needs a major overhauling and makeover. But it has an atmosphere that can be welcoming; as i met a long time tennis buddy of mine who is now in AZ. The pitching and putting greens are really good and the staff make a very concerted effort to keep it up. The staff there makes up the real reason why this treasure needs to be kept up in DC.
